Terms & Conditions
Singles that Mingle ('STM') reserve the right to amend its Terms and Conditions from time to time and will notify members of any amendments. Members will be bound by the changes when, subsequent to that notice they use the services by, for example, booking an event.
Registration form: Each member warrants that the details on the registration form are correct and promises to notify 'STM' of any changes to their personal details. Each member guarantees they are over 18 years of age. 'STM' will not be held responsible for the information provided on the registration form.
Password and Security: Each member is to keep their password confidential and will not permit anyone else to use that password. Members cannot transfer their membership to another person.
Availability of company site: 'STM' will not be liable for any losses due to any restrictions on access.
Third party websites/advertisers: 'STM' does not warrant or guarantee the quality of information of any third party websites/advertisers. Should any member spot any errors on the link pages they can notify 'STM' and 'STM' will seek to have any error amended. Similarly if any member connects to a link page and feels it to be inappropriate, ‘STM’ will investigate and if not feeing it to fall within the criteria of good taste and appropriateness, will endeavour to remove the link.
Submission of material: 'STM' reserves the right to delete, move and edit any materials submitted - either to the website, or it’s Facebook, twitter or Youtube pages.
Photography: Photographs and video may be used as promotional tools. By accepting these terms and conditions you are confirming that you are happy for your photo and/or video footage of you to be taken and used. If however you have specific issues with the use of footage of yourself at an event, please advise the host and they will endeavour to ensure you do not feature in such footage publicly.
Confirmation and Payment: All events must be pre-paid. Bookings are only confirmed once payment has been received. Payment at a members’ rate for a non-member will be refunded and the booked place cancelled unless a balancing payment is forwarded prior to the booking deadline specified on the website. We accept payment by credit or debit card via Paypal. We also accept payment by cheque or cash when specific arrangements have been made with STM management to do so. Payment on the night will only be accepted if specifically agreed by 'STM' management in advance.
Members' right to cancel: Each new member has the right to cancel their membership within 7 days of completing the registration form however, loses his right to cancel when he/she actually uses the service* (*paying for/attending an event).
'STM' right to cancel: If in the unlikely event we (STM) do not achieve minimum reservation numbers we (STM) have the right to cancel the event and a full refund will be given.
Credit notes: If you wish to have a credit note instead of a refund on an event that you or 'STM' have cancelled, this is current for use for 6 months from the date of the cancellation. No refund will be made if the credit note is unused after that time.
Subscription Fees:
In the very unlikely event that 'STM' ceases trading within 1 month of you joining, a full refund of the joining fee will be issued if no events have been attended during that period. If you have been on an event during this period no refund will be made.
Subscription to STM is renewable annually on the anniversary of first joining the membership. If renewal of the membership subscription is not completed at this time, you may continue to book events but the members discount will not be applied until such time as the membership subscription is renewed.
Members and non-members prices.
Members can book events at a discounted price if their subscription to STM is current. The member’s price reflects the members’ loyalty and support in subscribing to STM. The non-members’ price reflects the commercial pricing of the event, without discount.
If a member is found to be booking events for a non-member at the members’ price, their membership will be cancelled together with the booked place(s) at the event. The event place(s) will be refunded as long as they fall within the appropriate terms and conditions for being refundable (see above), but the membership subscription will not.
Weather dependant events: If we (STM) have to cancel an event due to weather conditions we will do our very best to re-schedule the event to another date. If the substitute date is not convenient for any individual booked onto the event, STM will either provide a refund where payment has not already been made or obligation to pay on behalf of the individual booking incurred. In the latter cases, unfortunately no refund can be made.
Event cancellation policy- If a member cancels an event:
*14 or more days before event date = full refund
*13 - 8 days before event date = 50% refund,
*Within 7 days of event date = no refund
* Unless the event booked includes tickets purchased on behalf of the member or places chartered/reserved at a specific event or venue for which the obligation to pay on behalf of the individual booking has already been incurred by STM. In these circumstances a refund can only be made if the booking can be re-sold before the booking deadline. It is the cancelling individual’s responsibility to organise this, not STM.
Disclaimer: 'STM' will take all reasonable steps to ensure members' safety whilst they are at an event, and venues and event providers hold the appropriate insurances and undertake safety risk assessments. However, members take part in activities completely at their own risk and in the event of a claim, this is against the venue/activity provider, not 'STM'.
Liabilities
- 'STM' are not to be held responsible for the quality of food or drink provided at any of the events.
- If a member is dissatisfied with the quality of food or services provided at an event they should either speak direct to the 'STM' host at the event or take it up with the venue directly.
- In any event, 'STMs' liability is limited to the cost of the event and no more; STM will not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses.
- If an event or provision of entertainment at an event is curtailed or cancelled due to acts out of STM control – weather, terrorist or criminal activity, ‘acts of God’, third party behaviour – STM is not liable for losses sustained as a result, or subject to a claim for refund.
Male/female ratio: We do not imply or guarantee an equal balance of male to female at any event. As the group is not a dating agency, but a singles social group this is not felt to be an issue.
Conduct: If 'STM' feel that our members behaviour is inappropriate in any way and causing offence or affecting the enjoyment of other STM members, we ('STM') reserve the right to ask the member to leave the event and no monies will be refunded.
'Singles that Mingle' also reserves the right to refuse or cancel a membership in the event of such behaviour.
Future meetings: If you personally arrange to meet up with another 'STM' member outside the remit of one of our events, 'STM' cannot be held responsible for behaviour or occurrences on those occasions. We suggest all future meetings be arranged in a busy environment and friends be notified of names, dates, time and location.
Hosts: Our hosts are engaged in a professional capacity only when hosting a STM event as host. Any social or other interaction outside of such events is entirely their responsibility and in no way to be connected with STM. All hosts understand and are required to adhere to principles of confidentiality in relation to any personal knowledge of STM members or membership in their capacity as hosts.
Special requirements: It is the members responsibility to notify 'STM' of any special requirements e.g. wheelchair access/large print menus, specific dietary requirements etc. Unfortunately we cannot always ensure full access to all venues as the venues themselves ultimately dictate the facilities they provide. STM will always endeavour to arrange events at a wide range of venues to ensure there is as much choice available as possible for members with disabilities.
